In developing SignalXpress, we faced two main technical challenges:
synchronising with the client's ERP system and implementing a dynamic pricing model.
The ERP system is central to our client's operations, integrating production,
distribution, and sales. It was crucial for SignalXpress to sync with this
system to avoid data discrepancies. We crafted a data synchroniser that
periodically checks and updates product and customer information from
the ERP to our platform, ensuring consistency.
The second challenge involved the client's unique pricing structure, where each
customer might have different prices for the same product. To tackle this, we
developed a rule-based algorithm. This algorithm analyses the various prices
per product, determining the appropriate price to display to each customer
based on negotiated deals and historical data. This solution allowed for
accurate, personalised pricing in the app.
Our strategy involved implementing a data synchroniser and a rule-based pricing
algorithm, pivotal for overcoming technical hurdles in the SignalXpress project.
These solutions ensured seamless integration with the client's ERP system,
maintained data consistency, and facilitated dynamic pricing for personalised
customer experiences.

Cash4Trash is dedicated to revolutionising recycling practices across Africa, empowering communities while preserving our planet. Their innovative approach introduces the concept of green currency, incentivising individuals to participate in environmental conservation efforts. <br/><br/> After downloading the Cash4Trash SA app (for iOS and Android) and going through the recycling process, users can easily redeem digital rewards earned from plastic, aluminium, or glass bottle recycling using our RVM machines. <br/><br/> Once redeemed, users have the flexibility to share their rewards with friends or family or utilise them at popular retailers like Checkers, Game, Makro, Vodacom, MTN, Pick n Pay, and many others. <br/><br/> Cash4Trash isn't just about rewarding recycling; it's about fostering tangible change. By incentivising the proper disposal of beverage containers and mitigating the harmful impact of plastic, aluminium, and glass on our ecosystems.
Most cigarette smokers want to quit, but fewer than one in ten smokers succeed in quitting without the right support mechanisms in place. At CubeZoo, we believe in leveraging technology to create meaningful solutions that drive positive change. Our partnership with Pfizer Pharmaceuticals exemplified this ethos, particularly in our collaboration to support South African smokers in their journey to quit. <br/><br/> The app, called MyTimeToStart, educated smokers about the realities of smoking and used clever methods to engage their emotions to trigger them to quit. Ranging from money and fitness, to beauty and self-worth, the app emphasised the negative effects of smoking and the benefits of giving up the habit.
Founded in 1957 as a South African life insurance company, Liberty Life has grown into a pan-African financial services company, offering asset management, investment, insurance and health products to 3.2 million people across Africa. In the business of helping its customers get the best levels of support, Liberty ensures that it also offers employees the backing they need to live better, healthier lives. <br/><br/> CubeZoo was contracted to develop the UX, UI, and front-end of a wellness application for Liberty’s staff. Originally web-based, the application is now transitioned into the world of Android and iOS. <br/><br/> The application, called betterMe, was designed to offer insights into employee health to enable better health measures within the company. Linking wearable technology to the application, employees are able to view their mental, physical and social wellbeing. betterMe uses the information provided by the wearables to offer tips and advice to assist individuals to better their health and lifestyle. For example, someone who may not be very active would be reminded that physical activity or exercise can improve health and reduce the risk of developing several diseases like type 2 diabetes, cancer, and cardiovascular disease.
